Jazmine Sullivan is close revealing the first of many new songs to come from her sophomore album, a follow to the Grammy nominated debut “Fearless”.
Untitled at this point, Sullivan’s effort will be led by the soon to be unleashed single “Hold You Down”.
Confirmed by Missy Elliott, who also produced the song, on Twitter recently, “Hold You Down” will be released this week.
While Missy is excited about the single, also following Sullivan’s hit “Bust Your Windows,” Jazmine would rather let fans hear it first and hype it on their own than roll out a series of tweets and other promotional things…
“i really dont like hyping up my own @*#$! u know? lk i’d rather people hear it and do the hyping for me,” Sullivan wrote earlier this month on her official Twitter page. “it means more that way. am i wrong?”
At this point it is unclear when the album she describes as “mostly love or trying to find it or lack there of — that’s pretty much the premise of my life trying to figure out who I am” will be released. According to Sullivan, it will be out soon.
“anyway album will be out soon,” she says. “finishing touches and then its urs! hope i can help somebody.”
Jazmine Sullivan’s debut, “Fearless,” has been certified Gold since its release in 2008.
